Mifflin County has renewed its contract with Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11 to continue providing GED education for inmates at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. The $7,500 agreement, now approved by county commissioners, will fund adult education and workforce services for the upcoming year. The GED program is seen as not only aiding inmates in obtaining their diplomas, but also significantly boosting their earning potential. The Mifflin County Commissioners also approved agreements for substance abuse treatment and mental health support for inmates.
