The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania is urging homeowners to avoid using sticky tape to control Spotted Lanternflies. Although sticky traps seem effective, they also capture birds and beneficial insects. Instead, the Audubon Society recommends the simpler and safer method of squishing the invasive pests. The Society’s message: “Be a friend to birds and insects—squish, don’t stick!”
