Pheasant Season Fast Approaching – Game Commission Says Expect A Good Year

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is predicting a strong pheasant hunting season in 2024. Officials expect to stock around 230,000 ring-necked pheasants across the state, slightly higher than last year. The stocking will take place at 225 locations through nine releases during the fall and winter seasons. Pheasant season kicks off with a junior hunt from October 12 to 19, followed by the regular season starting October 26. Hunters are reminded to check the stocking schedule on the Game Commission’s website and are encouraged to use bird dogs for better results in the field.
