In Centre County, the Bellefonte High Speed Interchange Project will officially get underway beginning on Wednesday, September 25. When that happens, it will lead to a significant road closure. Jacksonville Road, stretching from Lyonstown Road to Interstate 99, will be shut down for the next six years, reopening in Summer 2030. If you have plans to head out that way, you are strongly advised to check the Centre County Emergency Management Facebook page for detour routes. The project aims to improve local traffic flow when it is completed, but between now and then it will require long-term adjustments for travelers in that area.
