As we head into the last holiday weekend of the summer season, a lot of people will be on the roads. Pennsylvania Turnpike officials are anticipating a busy Labor Day weekend, with today expected to be the peak travel day. An estimated 720,000 vehicles are projected to use the Turnpike today alone. Over the entire weekend through Monday, September 2, about 2.89 million travelers are expected, matching 2019’s record. To ensure safety, all construction projects on the turnpike will be suspended until Monday evening.
