Mifflin School Board Approves New Budget

The Mifflin County School Board has approved a $107 million budget for the 2024-2025 school year, keeping current tax rates unchanged. The budget passed with a 6-2 vote, with members Zeb Harshbarger and Don Wright dissenting. The board also suspended the Academy Expansion Project and retired its associated debt, reallocating funds to long-term savings. Additionally, several change orders were approved for the Multi-Sports Stadium Project, including a nearly $103,000 reduction through product substitutions. Naming rights for fields were secured by Lake Dealerships and Marcal Paper. The next board meeting is set for July 18.
