The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology in Lewistown has hired Laura D. Hicks as their new administrative director. The Academy’s Operating Committee approved her hiring unanimously during a special voting meeting Thursday night. Hicks, currently employed at the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center, replaces Barry W. King, who is retiring on June 30. Hicks will start on August 5th with a salary of $112,000. Until her arrival, Academy principal Gary L. Heverly will serve as acting director starting July 1.
