The first real snowstorm of the season led to a number of crashes in the area. One accident near the rest area on U.S. 322 in Armagh Township closed the highway briefly yesterday. Lewistown Police answered calls about accidents on U.S. 322 and on Juniata Street. Mifflin County Regional Police say they answered 11 accident calls yesterday, mostly in Derry Township. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in any of those crashes. It all serves as a vibrant reminder to slow down when the roads get slick… and a reminder that slick roads are going to become more frequent now for the next few months.
