In the early hours of Wednesday morning, emergency responders swiftly tackled a stairwell fire at 7 S. Juniata Street in Lewistown. Despite initial concerns about a potential victim trapped inside, thankfully, no injuries were reported. Authorities say while the wooden structure sustained smoke and water damage, the fire was mostly contained outside. With the combined efforts of multiple fire companies, the blaze was extinguished in just a few hours. The cause remains under investigation.
