Camper Fire – No Injuries

Centre Hall Fire Company responded to a camper fire Sunday during move-in day at the Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair in Centre Hall. Crews arrived yesterday around 3:25pm and the fire was out within minutes. No word on what caused it. Nobody was hurt.

Perry County Man Killed in Ohio After FBI Breach

The man killed by police last Thursday in Ohio after he tried to breach a Cincinnati-area FBI office was a native of Perry County. The identity of 42 year old Ricky Shiffer, who was shot and killed by authorities in Ohio, after a standoff that lasted for hours, was confirmed Friday by Ohio state police.

Lanternflies Mark Big Return

Spotted lanternflies are back, and they are making a strong showing right now across much of Pennsylvania, including right here in our area. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, there have been 9,885 reports of spotted lanternflies through July 11 of this year. In the same period last year, there were 4,827 reported sightings.

Woman Jailed in Mifflin County on Charges Including Attempted Homicide

An 18-year-old woman faces charges including attempted homicide in connection with an incident that took place back on August 4th in Lewistown. in the borough. Brianna Armstrong is accused of stabbing a 43 year old male neighbor following a verbal altercation. Armstrong was denied bail. She’s behind bars in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
