Early Saturday morning, first responders in Juniata County were dispatched to a house fire at 100 N Third Street in Mifflintown Borough. The fire, which broke out just after 4am, engulfed a building containing three apartment units. Firefighters from the Mifflintown Hose Company arrived to find heavy flames on two sides of the structure and quickly sprang into action. Fortunately, crews were able to get inside where they located and safely rescued one occupant from the building. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. After over an hour of intense effort, crews successfully brought the fire under control. No word yet on what started it.
