In Centre County, a Mifflin County man, 52 year old Scott R. Williams, has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years behind bars for the rape and assault of a Penn State student that occurred in May 1995. The victim suffered severe injuries, including minor brain damage and fractures to her skull, face, and jaw. Williams was arrested in October 2021 after 26 years, as advancements in DNA technology led to the identification of his DNA profile. The victim, found in critical condition, was unable to identify her attacker at the time. Williams’ arrest came after years of investigation and DNA testing of potential relatives.
