Training for Disaster

Over the weekend, Mifflin County High School served as the venue for a crucial Mass Casualty Incident training session, bringing together emergency responders from Juniata, Mifflin, and Centre Counties. Participants dedicated their weekend to enhancing their skills in handling disasters exceeding available healthcare resources. With scenarios ranging from building collapses to mass shootings, responders learned vital techniques in triaging, stabilizing, and transporting victims. The training, held every few years, ensures readiness for potential Mass Casualty Incidents, fostering effective coordination and collaboration among various agencies.
