The Juniata County Commissioners met on Tuesday, and part of that meeting involved welcoming Emily Shoop, who is now the 4H program coordinator for Penn State Extension. Shoop… who previously worked for the Mifflin County 4H program… is replacing Theresa Williams, who retired at the end of 2022. One of the chief 4H initiatives that Shoop is growing is the Horse and Pony program, which has returned after four years. She also told the commissioners that there will be a new rocketeers program, and she said excitement about the programs is growing among the students of the 4H in both local counties.
