To reduce the chances of your mailbox being damaged by a snowplow this winter, PennDOT says all homeowners along rural mail routes should prepare now to make sure that their mailbox is safeguarded. They say it helps to place piece of reflective tape on the mailbox to help snowplow operators see it at night. If it was damaged in past years, you may want to look into moving it. And make sure the mailbox post is firmly in the ground.
