It’s ‘cantucky’ Derby Time

Merf Radio is hosting its annual Cantucky Derby, collecting non-perishable foods to feed the hungry in Mifflin and Juniata counties. Foods collected in Mifflin County will benefit Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, which served over 64-hundred individuals and 2,400 families last year alone. Richard also said canned fruits, vegetables and pastas, along with cereals, will be put to good use. Foods collected in Mifflintown will go to the Juniata County Food Pantry which has also seen an increase in people needing help, according to executive director Glenda Fultz…

Like the Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, the Food Pantry will gladly take all donations but pudding and fruit cups, along with canned pastas, are of special need. The Merf Radio Cantucky Derby takes place at Weis Markets in Burnham and Mifflintown. Free hot dogs for everyone just for stopping by.
