Raystown Dam Maintenance Planned

Raystown Lake’s downstream area will be temporarily closed from May 15 to May 23 as part of a scheduled dam maintenance. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting repairs on the mechanical equipment, which dates back to the 1970s. The closure will block boat traffic near mile marker 1, but the rest of the lake will remain open for recreational activities. The closure is a part of a larger rehabilitation project, with additional restrictions possible if the work isn’t completed by May 23.
