Lewistown police say they recently arrested a man after reports of an alleged assault. Officers responded to West Fifth Street after a woman reported that 50-year-old Steven Jack Young Sr. was hitting and yelling at her. Neighbors also called, saying they saw Young strike the woman multiple times. Police say Young was intoxicated and aggressive when they arrived, and he refused to comply with orders. Officers had to use physical force to arrest him. He was taken to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility, where he was placed behind bars and is charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, and harassment.
