Man Jailed After Getting Caught with More Than 8 Pounds of Cocaine

A Puerto Rican man is facing felony charges after over eight pounds of cocaine was discovered in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Centre County on Friday. State police pulled over 32 year old Zariel Melendez on I-80 West in Marion Township. After a drug-detecting canine alerted officers, a search revealed the cocaine, with an estimated street value of $170,000. Melendez is now facing a long list of drug-related offenses, and he is behind bars in the Centre County Prison without bail.
