Mifflin County commissioners met this week, and approved $10,000 in funding for local community pools, with $5,000 each going to Lewistown and Burnham pools. The money will help with maintenance and operations ahead of the summer season. Commissioners also designated April as “Pennsylvania 811 Safe Digging Month” to promote underground utility safety. In other business, the board approved infrastructure funding, homeless assistance increases, and new county hires, including a probation officer and corrections officer.
