Centre County Man Jailed for Shooting Dog

A Centre County man is behind bars after being accused of shooting and killing his German Shepherd. Authorities say 36-year-old Nicholas Richart of Millheim shot the dog in the right eye, then left it near a camper. Investigators discovered two shotgun shells at the scene. Richart they say, admitted to it all, claiming he shot the dog because “people were after him.” He has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and is now behind bars in the Centre County Prison without bail.
