Hope May Be on the Way for Ailing Us Postal Service

It’s no secret that service from the U.S. Postal Service in many cases isn’t what it used to be. Now, the postal service could see some major changes as President Trump considers issuing an executive order to disband its governing board and place the agency under the Commerce Department. While some critics fear it could lead to reduced mail access and job losses, Trump argues the change would improve efficiency. It also could lead the way for privatization of the Postal Service, which has been hemorrhaging money for years. In the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, the U.S. Postal Service reported a net loss of $9.5 billion, a huge increase from the staggering $6.5 billion loss in the previous year.
