Keeping an Eye on Avian Influenza

State Health officials say more than 100,000 new cases of bird flu have been detected in Pennsylvania. The virus hit an 80,000-bird broiler flock in Lancaster County and 20,000 ducks at a Cumberland County meat facility. Another 600 cases were found in non-agriculture poultry last week. So far this year, more than 2 million birds in the state have been affected. Authorities continue monitoring the outbreak as they work to contain the spread.
