A homeless shelter serving Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Juniata counties is struggling financially as demand for services rises. Shelter Services Inc. relies on private donations for 80% of its funding but is seeing costs outpace contributions. The shelter, which serves about 30 people daily, has seen a rise in elderly and disabled clients. Executive Director Jane Neff says they are working to secure more funding to avoid service interruptions. Those wanting to help can contact the shelter at (717) 248-0102.
