Fire crews from multiple departments battled a house fire early Tuesday morning on Birch Drive in Granville Township. Flames engulfed the front of the home, including the garage and living room, by the time firefighters arrived just after 5:30am. Crews worked quickly to knock down the fire, limiting damage to about 60% of the structure. No one was injured, but two cats and a dog did not survive. Investigators are still determining the cause. Firefighters remained on the scene for nearly two hours to ensure that the fire was fully extinguished.
