The Mifflin County Commissioners met for the first time in the new year this week, and approved a tax exoneration request, relieving residents of the 2024 county per capita tax burden. In fact, the proposal received unanimous support. The board also made several appointments, including Chelsea Reed to the Housing Authority for a five-year term and other roles in the Planning Commission and youth services. Personnel changes were announced, with resignations and new hires for corrections, court, and emergency services. Joshua Pennepacker was promoted to 911 Manager, effective late December, as the county continues to focus on staffing key roles.
