Juniata County Commissioners met, and among the items covered was the approval of Benjamin Yoffee as an assistant public defender under a professional services contract costing $33,531, fully funded by the Indigent Defense Grant. The contract is effective immediately and runs through December 31st. Commissioners also reappointed Mark R. Partner to a five-year term on the Industrial Development Authority Board, approved tax exonerations for Walker Township, and hired three part-time employees for the county’s 911 Center. Payment of over $505,000 in checks and departmental reports from the Sheriff’s and Treasurer’s offices were also approved.
