The Juniata County Commissioners held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, and among the items covered was approval of the use of a $233,161 9-1-1 Statewide Interconnectivity grant to support local emergency services. The money will maintain the computer-aided dispatch program, enhance cybersecurity, and upgrade hardware. Commissioners yesterday also reviewed a required three-year pension law update but took no action. Other items of business included the approval of marking $459,918 for the county retirement fund, tax exonerations for Mifflintown Borough, and appointments for 2025 department heads. Commissioners also approved hazardous materials payments, checks totaling $185,132, and an interest rate for employee retirement accounts.
