State Police Release Disturbing Holiday Stats

Pennsylvania State Police reported a notable increase in DUI and crash numbers over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. From November 27 to December 1, troopers responded to 1,075 traffic incidents across the state… nearly 100 more than the previous year. Of these, seven were fatal, with one crash attributed to alcohol impairment. In total, alcohol played a role in 64 crashes. Additionally, authorities made 552 DUI arrests, compared to 542 in 2023. Officers also issued nearly 8,000 speeding tickets and over 1,000 citations for seat belt violations.
