The Rockhill Trolley Museum in Rockhill Furnace has acquired two historic electric trolley cars from a private collection in Middletown. One of the cars, number 23 from the Lewistown and Reedsville Electric Railway, operated locally until 1933 before being turned into a summer cottage. Car 23 will now undergo full restoration, and then it will become the museum’s most locally connected operating trolley. The second car, York Railways car 162, will be preserved as a cottage to showcase how trolley bodies found new life after retirement. Donations for transport and restoration are being accepted as the museum expands its collection to 25 cars.
