Penn State and Football Player Facing Lawsuit

Penn State University and freshman football player De’Andre Cook are facing a lawsuit after a 6-year-old boy was struck by Cook riding an e-scooter on campus in February. It happened when Cook failed to stop at a stop sign, hitting the child, who sustained multiple injuries. The boy’s father is seeking $100,000 for negligence. Cook, who has not played in any games so far this season, pleaded guilty to summary violations and paid fines. The lawsuit also alleges that Penn State violated its policy regarding motor-driven devices on campus.
