Local Election Turnout “record Setting”

It’s now official… voter turnout in Mifflin and Juniata counties surpassed expectations during Tuesday’s presidential election. Mifflin County’s turnout hit 80.5%, with record-breaking mail-in and early voting numbers. Juniata County also saw a major increase, despite a bomb threat at the courthouse that delayed voting until the evening. In that incident, State Police found no device, and voting continued smoothly afterward. Officials plan to certify the election results later this month.
