Wednesday Fire in Lewistown Ruled Accidental

A fire broke out Wednesday morning around 9:30 at an unoccupied building in the Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation plaza on Route 103 North in Lewistown. It was sparked accidentally by a local scrap dealer while cutting out scrap metal. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. The fire damaged the building’s roof and an electrical panel before crews managed to contain it. The fire marshal has ruled it accidental. Cleanup efforts are underway.
