PPL Electric Utilities customers should brace for increased electric bills starting December 1. The utility company announced that its new “Price to Compare” rates for residential customers will rise to 10.771 cents per kilowatt-hour, up from 10.040 cents. Small business customers will see their rates jump to 10.446 cents, up from 9.237 cents. The changes follow competitive energy auctions aimed at securing the lowest possible costs, and will remain in effect until May 31, 2025, pending approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
