More Details on Hang Glider’s Death

More details have now been released surrounding the incident in which a 68-year-old man from Belleville died in a hang-gliding accident on Monday afternoon. According to investigators, David C. Haugwout was piloting an Aeros Hang Glider when he lost control, crashing into trees along Jacks Mountain Road in Oliver Township shortly before 3:30pm on Monday. The Mifflin County Coroner reported that Haugwout was pronounced dead at the scene, with the cause of death attributed to positional asphyxia. The incident remains under investigation.
