Mifflintown Firefighters Kept Very Busy

Mifflintown Hose Co. No. 1 was kept busy, responding to two calls in quick succession. Firefighters first tackled a tractor fire in a barn in Spruce Hill Township, successfully pulling the tractor out. The barn was saved. Shortly after that, units were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Route 322 East, near Port Royal, where a pickup truck towing a horse trailer caught fire after a round bale ignited in the truck bed. The quick response from the station’s tanker crew extinguished the flames, and fortunately, the driver was able to disconnect the trailer, keeping the pony inside safe.
