Deer Vehicle Collisions on the Increase

As fall settles in, Pennsylvania is bracing for an increase in deer-car crashes. AAA reports that last year, the state saw more than 5,800 deer-related collisions from October to December, coinciding with the deer mating season. Pennsylvania is among the top states for the likelihood of a deer related collision, with an estimated 153,000 insurance claims last year alone. Nationally, nearly half of animal-related crashes occur during these months. Experts advise drivers to remain vigilant, just before sunrise and just after sunset, as deer tend to be more active and may suddenly cross roads.
