Loaded Gun Found in Carry-on Baggage at State College Airport

TSA officers at State College Regional Airport now report that they intercepted a loaded .357 caliber handgun in a local man’s carry-on bag early Tuesday morning. The firearm, containing five bullets, was detected by TSA’s X-ray unit at the security checkpoint. While the man’s identity was not disclosed, TSA warned that civil penalties for bringing weapons to checkpoints can reach up to $15,000. This incident marks the second firearm interception at the airport in a month.
