Habitat Breaks Ground on 12th Mifflin County Home

Habitat for Humanity has officially broken ground on its 12th home in Mifflin County, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s 25-year history. The ceremony took place in McVeytown, with recipient Melinda Crosson, her family, and volunteers in attendance. The new residence, situated on Birch Lane in Strodes Mills, will feature three bedrooms and a full basement. Crosson expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, having waited four years for construction to begin due to fundraising efforts. Habitat requires future homeowners to contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” and has so far raised around $116,000 of the $155,000 needed for the home.
