2 Firefighters Hurt in Monday Lewistown Blaze

Two firefighters were hurt battling an apartment fire on Valley Street in Lewistown Monday morning. Crews arrived at 10:45am yesterday to find flames pouring from a second-floor window. Thankfully, all occupants were safely accounted for. However, two firefighters from Heritage Fire Co. were caught in a flashover, where a room was engulfed in flames. They were treated and released from Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. The fire damaged nine apartments across three buildings, displacing an unconfirmed number of residents. The cause has been ruled electrical by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal.
