A Juniata County man is facing serious charges for allegedly shooting and killing his daughter’s dog while she was on vacation. Steven Redd is now facing charges including aggravated cruelty to animals and possession of a weapon. The incident has been under investigation since it took place back in August, when state police responded to reports of a dog being shot. Redd had offered to care for his daughter’s pets during her trip. He initially claimed that the dog, named Gunner, had bitten him. After Gunner was reported missing, his body was found in the woods, shot dead. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Redd with a gun around the time of the incident. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
