PA Trucking Company Shutting Down

Another Pennsylvania company has announced plans to cease operations, at a time when many companies are facing operational challenges in the current economic climate. FMC Logistics, a delivery company, will shut down, leading to the layoff of 121 employees on October 29. The layoffs will impact 52 box truck delivery drivers, 21 van delivery drivers, and 48 delivery helpers, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. FMC Logistics provided delivery services for Amazon in several states. The notice is part of the federal WARN Act, which requires employers to notify employees about mass layoffs and business closures at least 60 days in advance.
