Lewistown Home Damaged By Fire

A fire at a home on West Fourth Street in Lewistown left two residents displaced Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters responded around 4:20pm yesterday after reports of heavy smoke. It is now believed that the fire originated in the basement. The blaze was declared under control in less than a half hour, but not before it had spread to the kitchen via an internal stairwell. The Red Cross is now assisting those affected. Investigators have ruled the fire accidental. Multiple local fire companies and emergency services remained on the scene until about 6pm.
