The Mifflin County Farm Bureau officially kicked off Ag Literacy Week on Monday, aiming to enhance agricultural education for local youth. This year’s theme is “Soil in Jackie’s Garden,” a book focusing on plant life cycles and composting. For a $12 donation, anyone in the community can sponsor a book for local classrooms, complete with a nameplate and educational activities. Additionally, the Bureau plans to continue fostering agricultural understanding through programs like mobile ag labs and community initiatives.
