In Centre County, restoration efforts are underway for the nearly 150-year-old Boogersburg Schoolhouse. Originally built in 1877, the historic one-room school served grades one through eight until 1957. It was established on land donated by Moses Thompson, who also contributed to the founding of the Farmers High School, the precursor to Penn State. The Centre County Historical Society now owns the schoolhouse and is working on repairs, including roof upgrades and painting, primarily funded by private donations. The restoration is set to be completed by spring.
