Catalytic Converter Thieves Picked the Wrong State to Target

Three Chicago men know know that Pennsylvania was not their best choice of states to launch a crime spree. The three have been sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison for a series of catalytic converter thefts here in the Keystone State. They were nabbed after stealing more than $300,000 worth of converters from car dealerships and tow trucks. The trio used a rented Porsche and SUV for their crimes, targeting multiple businesses, including one dealership where 35 converters were taken. Prosecutors described their operation as sophisticated and organized. The men pleaded guilty to running an organized theft ring.
