Belleville Holds Push in Ceremony

Belleville firefighters held a traditional “push-in” ceremony Thursday to welcome a new fire engine. The event, which dates back to the 17th century, saw firefighters and community members gather to push the $800,000 truck into the station. Belleville Fire Company’s new engine, now equipped for both rescue and firefighting, adds much-needed capability as they previously had only one truck. The ceremony not only celebrates the new equipment but also honors past firefighters who had to manually push engines back into the station after each time they were called out for a fire.
