A federal jury has ruled in favor of a Pennsylvania teacher teacher who sued his school district for violating his constitutional rights. The jury found that the Allentown School District retaliated against Jason Moorehead, suspending him and falsely accusing him of participating in the January 6 Capitol riot. Although Moorehead was in Washington, D.C., for the rally, he was not involved in the violence and has not been charged with any crime. The district has been ordered to pay Moorehead $125,000 in damages, and additional punitive damages were awarded against two school board members for their role in what the jury called a smear campaign.
