Police have arrested a man on multiple charges after a high-speed chase ended with a crash in Decatur Township. Officers initially responded to a disabled vehicle report on Brower Road, where 55 year old William Ruby Jr’s erratic behavior prompted a pursuit. After failing to stop at stop signs and exceeding 70 mph, the chase ended when Ruby crashed into trees on private property. Ruby, who was found to be under the influence, was hospitalized and then jailed on $50,000 bail. He faces charges including DUI, fleeing police, and reckless endangerment. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 5.
