911 Changes on the Way

Juniata County’s 911 services could potentially save between $8,000 and $10,000 annually with a switch to a new program. Director of 911 Services Adam Waite presented the proposal at Tuesday’s Juniata Commissioners meeting, telling county leaders that the transition from the current outdated system to the new system, developed by IBM/Watson, would also streamline emergency response by improving user-friendliness and efficiency in determining required services. The update he said, is expected to not only save a significant amount of money, but it will also enhance response times and accuracy in dispatching emergency resources.
